On October 2-6, 2023, the X International Scientific and Practical Conference “Extraction, Treatment, Transport of Oil and Gas” was held, which was held by the Institute of Oil and Gas Chemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Siberian city of Tomsk. Participating in the event was a representative of the Research Institute of NTNM at SRSPU (NPI), Ph.D. Saliev Alexey Nikolaevich.

The reports of the conference participants presented the latest achievements of domestic and foreign research in the field of oil production, treatment and transportation of oil, including high-viscosity and highly paraffinic oil, processing of oil and unconventional raw materials, oil and gas chemistry. The conference touched upon a current and important problem today - the development of oil and gas fields located in the Northern and Arctic regions of the Russian Federation, and also discussed pressing issues related to environmental problems in the oil production and oil refining industry, throughout the petrochemical complex.

A scientist from our university, a researcher at the Scientific Research Institute “NTNM”, Alexey Nikolaevich Saliev, presented the results of his research carried out within the framework of the research laboratory “New composite and functional materials with special properties”. His report on the topic “Processing of heavy oil residues and plant biomass waste into synthetic hydrocarbons” was highly appreciated and noted as one of the best in the section “Modern technologies for processing petroleum and non-traditional raw materials.” As a result, Saliev A.N. was awarded a 2nd degree diploma.
