THE PROBLEMS OF MODERN GAS CHEMISTRY WERE DISCUSSED AT THE PRESIDIUM OF THE RAS

From November 8 to 10, the XIII International Conference of Young Scientists in Petrochemistry “Modern Problems of Gas Chemistry” was held in Moscow, at the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Our young scientists also took part in it.

The conference was organized by the Joint Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the chemistry of oil, gas, coal and biomass, the Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis named after. A.V. Topchiev Russian Academy of Sciences, International Association of Academies of Sciences, RAS Scientific Council on Gas Chemistry, NTI Competence Center “Hydrogen as the basis of a low-carbon economy”, Russian Academy of Sciences.

The conference consisted of 4 sections:

  • Renewable raw materials for gas chemical products;
  • Hydrogen and carbon dioxide for the energy and chemical industries;
  • New processes for producing petrochemical products and fuels from gas feedstock;
  • New catalysts and processes for methane processing.

From our university, employees of the Research Institute “Nanotechnologies and New Materials” are taking part in the conference - candidate of technical sciences, junior researcher Ivan Zubkov and graduate student of the department of “Chemical Technologies”, research engineer Oleg Denisov.

Oleg Denisov made an oral presentation in the section “New processes for producing petrochemical products and fuels from gas feedstock” - “The influence of the H2/CO ratio in the initial synthesis gas on the process of formation of higher olefins from CO and H2 on a bifunctional cobalt catalyst.” Ivan Zubkov took part in the poster presentation “Synthesis of C5+ olefins from CO and H2 on a Co-SiO2/ZSM-5/Al2O3 catalyst.”

The presented reports with the results presented were created within the framework of the implementation of the Russian Science Foundation grant No. 23-23-00466 using the equipment of the Center for Shared Use "Nanotechnologies" of the SRSPU (NPI) named after M. I. Platov.
