The final selection of the youth scientific and innovative competition "UMNIK" was held on November 2 at the Boiling Point "Rostov-on-Don".

The projects were evaluated by the competition experts from the point of view of the innovative and scientific component of the developments.

The project of a postgraduate student, research engineer of NTNM Research Institute Olga Papeta "Development of a technology for the thermochemical conversion of oil refining and agricultural waste into valuable chemicals" was selected in the competition. Selection under the UMNIK program in the Rostov region (2022) and declared the winner.

The winners of the competition will receive a grant in the amount of 500 thousand rubles within twelve months in order to bring their scientific and technical ideas to the level of commercial application during this time.

The competition is implemented on the basis of five cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan, Tomsk. Rostov-on-Don for the second year in a row is the center of the competition for the regions of the South and North Caucasus, the regional organizer is the Innovation Agency of the Rostov Region with the support of the regional Ministry of Economic Development.
