On New Year's Eve, a pleasant, inspiring news came: the article of the research team led by Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor V. M. Chernyshev, the writing of which became possible as a result of the joint work of the research teams of the YURSPU (NPI) and the Institute of Organic Chemistry named after N.D. Zelinsky of the Russian Academy of Sciences (and personally Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.P. Ananikov), was accepted for publication in the journal "Angewandte Chemie".
This journal is considered one of the most prestigious scientific publications in which experimental results of research in the field of chemistry are published. And the point here is not even in the high impact factor (15.1), but in the fact that publication in "Angewandte Chemie" is a kind of qualification level. This is an absolute achievement that scientists of the most prestigious universities in the USA, Europe, China and other countries and continents are proud of. Our university has review publications in journals with an impact factor higher, but this is the first experimental article, research for which was conducted in Novocherkassk, the authors of which were only Russian scientists, which passed all levels of peer review without promotion from foreign co-authors. Authors of the publication: polytechnics Dmitry Pasyukov, Maxim Shevchenko, Konstantin Shepelenko, Oleg Khazipov, Yulia Burykina, Evgeny Gordeev, Mikhail Minyaev, V.M. Chernyshev and V.P. Ananikov.
The article "One-Step Access to Heteroatom-Functionalized Imidazol(in)ium Salts"/ "One-step access to imidazole(in) salts functionalized by heteroatom" reports the discovery of a family of new reactions (three new reactions at once) important for organic synthesis and the production of catalysts.
In many ways, this became possible thanks to the appearance in the YURGPU (NPI) NMR spectrometer (more than 60% of the experiment was done after the launch of NMR in our laboratory).
- Definitely, it is worth saying a huge thank you to the head of the laboratory of metal-complex and nanoscale catalysts of the IOH RAS, Valentin Pavlovich Ananikov, whose staff performed the mass spectral part of the research and quantum chemical calculations, and who personally participated very actively in this project and supported us all the time! – said Viktor Mikhailovich Chernyshev. – I think that this work and this publication is a reason for pride!
"Congratulations to all project participants on this outstanding achievement! Such articles require tremendous effort (and nerves), but they are, of course, worth it," Polytechnic V.P. Ananikov wrote in his letter immediately after receiving the news of the publication. - We are not only developing science, we are changing the perception of science in our country and the image of our country in the world. Other researchers in our country see that it is possible to do high-quality science, and this gives them the strength to work (despite the difficulties). And also, a good scientific result is the best way to tell the whole world that creative people work in our country. I wish you all a Happy New Year! Good health and we will continue to work successfully!"
We join all congratulations to the chemists and wish them even more notable success in the new year!
