AT ONCE THREE SCIENTISTS OF YURGPU (NPI) BECAME THE OWNERS OF THE GRANT OF THE PRESIDENT

For young scientists of the M.I. Platov YURSPU (NPI), numerous successes that accompany them throughout their scientific activities are already familiar, although no less joyful. At the end of the warm August days, the creators of science from the Polytechnic University again had a chance to receive new well–deserved awards - this time at the highest state level. Three Novocherkassk polytechnics have won grants from the President of the Russian Federation.

The award ceremony was held on Friday, August 30, in Rostov-on-Don, in the walls of the Southern Federal University. The best young scientists of the south of our country gathered here – those whose names, perhaps, will soon be known by the entire scientific community of Russia. It was gratifying to note that most of the awardees were represented by young talents of the Don region.

Vladimir Nikolaevich Gurba, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District, addressed the audience for the awarding of young scientists with a welcoming speech.

- I am very glad that the Rostov scientific School continues to give way to young talents who can bring a lot of benefit to our Motherland, - said Vladimir Nikolaevich. – I also want to thank all the talented teachers and mentors who have made a great contribution to the scientific success of their young wards.  The young scientists who will receive their awards today have a great scientific future, and I have no doubt that they will make a great contribution to Russia becoming one of the leading economic countries of our world in the near future.

- The research that provided you with presidential grants is definitely important both for the south of Russia and for our entire large country, - said Andrey Evgenievich Fateev, Deputy Minister of General and Vocational Education of the Rostov Region, addressing young scientists. – It is very nice to see that so many talented young people devote their attention to the development of science – and it would be wonderful if in the future one of you also became a highly qualified teacher, in turn giving the way to knowledge and new scientific achievements to young scientists of subsequent generations.

Congratulating the grant holders, the acting Rector of SFU Inna Konstantinovna Shevchenko emphasized that the competition for grants from the President of the Russian Federation is particularly difficult and responsible; thus, the best of the best gathered at the awarding ceremony. She also addressed warm words of gratitude to the mentors of the winners who were present at the award ceremony, noting that the future of Russian science depends, among other things, on a competent and harmonious union of experience and youth.

Three representatives of our university were among those awarded on this significant day. Roman Yakovenko, an associate professor of the Department of Chemical Technologies, an employee of the Research Institute of Nanotechnology and New Materials of the YURSPU (NPI), who successfully presented a project to develop a catalyst for the synthesis of Arctic diesel fuel, and Angela Danshina, a senior lecturer of the Department of Power Supply and Electric Drive of the YURSPU (NPI), who was awarded for the idea of promising intelligent systems, received their well-deserved presidential grants. controls for robotic lifting mechanisms.

The project of Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Technologies Alexandra Kuriganova "Formation of platinum and tin alloy nanoparticles under conditions of unsteady electrolysis and tolerant electrocatalysts based on them for low-temperature fuel cells" was also presented for the award.

- The development, on which I also had a chance to work actively, is aimed at obtaining synthetic high-quality fuel from natural gas, which is especially important and relevant for the northern regions of our country, - Roman Yakovenko told about his project. – It is very important that when creating this type of fuel, you can do without petroleum gas, without spending unnecessarily, thus valuable petroleum raw materials.

- In the course of my work, I worked on the creation of a lifting device that allows servicing large areas and moving loads of large capacity, thereby automating a number of work processes in production, - said Angela Danshina. – I have been engaged in robotics for about four years and I consider this direction to be very promising, interesting and relevant today.

The delegation of the Polytechnic University at the event was headed by the acting rector of YURGPU (NPI) Yuri Ivanovich Razorenov, who noted that such a significant success of the first university of the south of Russia at an important scientific competition was as pleasant as it was natural.

- The success of our scientists was due to a number of important factors, - said Yuri Ivanovich. – Firstly, effective scientific schools have been formed within the walls of the NPI for many years, regularly bearing fruit. Secondly, our grant holders have been actively engaged in scientific activities since their student days, which could not but affect their interest and responsible attitude to the case. Thirdly, our young scientists know and understand that their hard scientific work marks not only grant victories, but also makes an important contribution to their own scientific future.

Indeed, talented young scientists of Novocherkassk Polytechnic University are more and more often among the winners and prize–winners of many scientific, including grant competitions - which means that every year there are more and more creators of science who are not indifferent to their own successful future and to the happy future of our Russia.
