THREE WINNERS OF THE RSF COMPETITION

The results of the 2023 competition for grants from the Russian Science Foundation in the direction of “Conducting fundamental scientific research and exploratory scientific research by small individual scientific groups” have been summed up. Three employees of the Nanotechnologies and New Materials Research Institute were among the winners of the competition and will receive grants for the development of their scientific topics.

Based on the results of the examination, 1,392 projects were selected within the competition, presented to scientific groups from universities, research institutes, and manufacturing companies from all regions of the Russian Federation, consisting of 2 to 4 people. Grants are allocated for fundamental and exploratory scientific research in 2024–2025 in all fields of knowledge. The main goal of the competition is to create new scientific teams and search for promising topics.

Next year, the following projects will receive RSF funding:

“Development of methods for the synthesis of nickel hydride complexes with N-heterocyclic carbenes and their application in catalysis” under the leadership of Oleg Khazipov, “Design and synthesis of photoactive nitrogen heterocycles for activation of the carbon-halogen bond under visible light irradiation conditions” under the leadership of Alexander Astakhov and development of the topic headed by Maxim Shevchenko "Heteroannelated imidazolium salts and M/NHC based on them - synthesis and catalytic activity."

We congratulate our chemists on winning the RSF competition and wish them successful productive work!
