The application of our university for the creation of a new laboratory in 2021 was supported as part of the result "New laboratories have been created, including under the leadership of young promising researchers" of the national project "Science and Universities".
It became known that the procedure for selecting applications in the relevant ministry has been completed, on September 14, the budget commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation decided to provide a number of organizations with subsidies from the federal budget to finance state assignments for scientific research. Among the beneficiaries is the YURSPU Laboratory (NPI) "New and composite and functional materials with special properties". The head of the laboratory is Anna Ulyankina, Candidate of Chemical Sciences.
- The laboratory will be created in our university, which is a member organization of the world-class scientific and educational center - REC of the South of Russia, - explains Anna Alexandrovna. - In total, six youth laboratories were supported within the framework of this REC. The University will receive subsidies from the federal budget in the amount of 15 million rubles a year. The support measures are designed for 2021-2023. According to the requirements, there should be at least thirty percent of students among the employees of the new laboratories, and so it will be with us. The creation of youth laboratories is an excellent tool for attracting young talents to science! I am sure that thanks to promising young people, our region will receive new technological solutions for its development, and science as a whole will become much more attractive.
The new youth laboratory of YURGPU (NPI) will develop a new generation of composite and functional materials with special properties, including through deep processing of biomass. This will contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of manufactured products and creating a carbon neutral economy in the Russian Federation.
