For more than three decades, on the last Sunday of May, our whole country has traditionally celebrated the holiday of workers of the chemical and petrochemical industry, in other words, Chemist's Day. This professional holiday unites representatives of different generations – gray-haired professors and very "green" students, young scientists in universities and experienced employees of large industrial corporation..
The development of chemical science and the education of new generations of talented chemists has always been given great attention within the walls of our university. For almost one hundred and eleven years, more and more generations of highly qualified specialists have been trained by the Faculty of Technology, one of the oldest in the university, the same age as the NPI.
Here talented young men and women are accompanied on the road of knowledge by those for whom teaching is not a profession, but a vocation. Among them are members of public academies of the Russian Federation, Honored Workers of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation, honorary workers of higher professional education of the Russian Federation, etc. The Faculty of Technology has always been distinguished by its high professionalism in the approach to training and its achievements in research activities.
Young scientists and gifted students of the TF are numerous participants and prize–winners of regional and All-Russian competitions of mind and intellect, welcome guests of prestigious international scientific conferences. They actively and successfully participate in such scientific competitions as U.M.N.I.K., Case-In, "My first Grant" and many others. Over the past five years, the talented youth of the faculty have won a total of 12 grants for R&D and targeted training of specialists, 7 presidential scholarships for young scientists and graduate students. Eighteen TF students are holders of a scholarship from the Government of the Russian Federation.
It can be stated with confidence that the training of highly qualified specialists in the chemical industry continues to develop rapidly at the M.I. Platov YURSPU (NPI). I would like to congratulate all chemists of the Polytechnic University and wish them to successfully develop this important industry and make new discoveries!
