Traditionally, Chemist's Day is celebrated in Russia on the last Sunday of May. On May 28, workers in the chemical and petrochemical industry of Russia celebrate their professional holiday. This holiday is professional for all those who have connected their lives with one of the most complex, important and interesting sciences - chemistry.

The history of the holiday began on October 1, 1980. It was established by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR No. 3018-X "On holidays and memorable days." The tradition of celebrating Chemist's Day has been preserved after the collapse of the USSR in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus
