The semi-final selection of the youth scientific and innovative competition "UMNIK" was held on the basis of the YURSPU (NPI) on September 20. The polytechnics presented seven projects in two directions at this stage.

The semi-final started with the opening ceremony of the competition. The head of the representative office in the Rostov Region of the Innovation Promotion Foundation A.V. Pushenko and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the YURSPU (NPI) V.S. Puzin addressed the young innovators with welcoming words.

The projects were evaluated by the experts of the competition from the point of view of the innovative and scientific component of the developments.

The project of Olga Papeta, a graduate student, research engineer at the Research Institute "NTNM", "Development of technology for thermochemical conversion of oil refining and agricultural waste into valuable chemicals" passed the semifinal and was admitted to the stage of impersonal examination.
