The Terra-Polytech Olympiad. Digitalization and technology integration are our future

The Terra-Polytech Olympiad was held on the basis of the South Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI) named after M.I. Platov. The main objectives of the Olympiad were: identification and support of talented students who are interested in engineering and scientific and technical specialties; stimulating interest in solving urgent scientific and technical problems related to priority areas of science and technology development; developing participants' skills of systematic and creative thinking, the ability to work in a team.

The opening of the final third stage of the Olympiad took place on 05/31/2024. The defense of the prepared works took place in three directions: "Digitization of Terra-Polytech", "Architecture of Terra-Polytech" and "Technologies of Terra-Polytech". The team "Grandchildren of Fischer-Tropsch" performed from the Department of heterogeneous catalysis of the NTNM Research Institute. It consisted of: Zubkov I.N., Telegin D.V., Yakovenko E.Yu., Volik A.V.

The team's project proposed a digital transformation of a multifunctional pilot complex for the production of synthetic hydrocarbons. Thus, the pilot complex was provided with QR codes with links to the website of the Research Institute "NTNM", which contains all the necessary information about the process of hydrocarbon synthesis, parameters and characteristics of the complex, general information about the department, information about products manufactured at the Research Institute "NTNM". The presentation of the project took place at the "Boiling Point" on the basis of the YURSPU (NPI).

In the next two days, after the protection of all projects, a "Hackathon" was organized, within which teams from different universities were brought together to achieve a common goal – to generate the idea of a joint product combining the characteristics of each of the presented projects.

The united ExPro team proposed a prototype of the Sci-Fi Wheel stand, symbolizing advanced technologies in the field of hydrogen energy, fuel cells, modern design projects, and new properties of rolled metals for frames.

At the end of the fourth day of the conference, on 06/3/2024, the best works presented at the Terra-Polytech Olympiad were awarded. The Fischer-Tropsch Grandchildren team completed the stage by taking fourth place in the direction of Terra-Polytech Technologies.
