On September 16, 2023, the XIV Science Festival of the South of Russia was held at the ROSTOV-ARENA stadium: Russian science: past, present, future, aimed at popularizing research activities among young people, strengthening the interaction of industrial partners and the academic community.

The business program of the Festival included open lectures, seminars, round tables, business meetings and other popular science events for a wide audience in three areas: “Science and Society: Dialogue and Cooperation”; “Science and education: interaction and development”; "Science and technology: new opportunities and prospects."

Representatives of Kazan Federal University took part in the scientific and technical TED conference “A Decade of Science and Technology: Modern Developments and Achievements for the Benefit of Social Development” as part of the events in the “Science and Technology” direction; Lugansk State Medical University named after. St. Luke; Rostov State Economic University (RINH); Rostov regional branch of the All-Russian public organization "Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia", North Caucasus branch of the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics; Southern Federal University, as well as South Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI) named after. M.I. Platova. From SRSPU (NPI), junior researcher at the Research Institute “Nanotechnologies and New Materials” Ivan Zubkov took part in the scientific and technical TED conference with an oral report on the topic “Scientific developments as the basis for technological development and independence of the country.” In his report, Ivan Zubkov formulated the importance of scientific developments for reducing dependence on foreign technologies, spoke about research work aimed at creating domestic technologies for producing valuable chemicals from carbon-containing materials developed at the university, cooperation and joint developments with academic and industrial organizations our country.
