Within the framework of the forum, the annual Youth Innovation Convention of the Rostov region was held, during which a competition of scientific papers was held. Applications of seventy–two finalists of the convention were presented in three nominations - "Best innovative idea", "Best innovative project" and "Best innovative product".
The First Deputy Governor of the region Igor Guskov addressed the participants and guests of the forum with a welcoming speech. He noted that at present, more and more attention is being paid to the development of science in our country, and, in particular, in the south of Russia. Annual scholarships, awards and grants create a reliable financial support for Don scientists, and their developments are successfully used at the All-Russian level.
- It is well known that talented scientists are a guarantee of the inevitable progress of the country! – stressed Igor Alexandrovich. – Only through the introduction of innovative scientific developments will we be able to be competitive in the dynamic modern world. I would like to congratulate our young scientists on choosing the right path in life and wish them to move only forward, for the benefit of the Rostov region and our great Motherland.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy of the Rostov region Tamara Shevchenko noted that today many talented projects will be presented within the framework of the innovation convention, some of which, except for the word "miracle", cannot be called, but in fact the secret of each of them is hard work and a large stock of knowledge.
- Dear friends, I am very glad to welcome us to our forum! – said Tamara Sergeevna. – Nowadays, it is impossible to imagine any industry without the development of innovative technologies. It is gratifying that the number of participants is increasing every year. I wish you a pleasant and fruitful work – and only the most positive impressions!
Among the inventors standing at the origins of the science of the future, there was also a delegation of our university. Young scientists of the M.I. Platov YURSPU (NPI) presented their innovative developments at the Youth Innovation Convention. Among them were the winners of prestigious scientific programs, such as "U.M.N.I.K." and "My first grant" of the RFBR. The developments and innovative ideas of Novocherkassk polytechnics were also recognized at the site of the Youth Innovation Convention.
The project of Vera Pryatkina, an employee of the Scientific and Educational Center "Rational Nature Management", was dedicated to the utilization of heat from diesel generator sets. It can be successfully used in small distributed power generation to save fuel from diesel power plants.
"I've been working on this topic for almost six months," Vera said. – I plan to develop this project in the future, and I am sure that it will benefit in environmentally safe production.
Svetlana Nekroenko, a research assistant at the Research Institute "Nanotechnologies and New Materials" of the YURSPU (NPI), touched upon the topical issue of creating environmentally safe fuels from renewable raw materials in her work. In our country, such technology can become a real revolutionary breakthrough.
- The basis of the new type of fuel is the simplest waste of biomass: straw, sawdust, even the husk of seeds, - Svetlana told about her work. – Its use does not harm the environment and is much cheaper than oil.
The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the Youth Innovation Convention was approaching. The cherished moment of announcing the best of the best came – and almost immediately the name of a young scientist from the Polytechnic University sounded. Alexey Babushkin's project "Improving the efficiency of thermal and nuclear power plants due to the utilization of heat losses in a heat pump installation" took first place in the nomination "Best Innovative Idea".
- Modern thermal and nuclear power plants operate with an extremely low level of efficiency, - Alexey explained the essence of his work. – One of the possibilities to increase this level at thermal power plants and nuclear power plants without significant interference in the technological cycle is the use of heat pumps. Now we are working on this in partnership with Novocherkassk GRES and the nuclear power plant in Rostov-on-Don.
The forum concluded with a meeting of the Council of Young Scientists of the Rostov region, during which the most pressing issues of the development of science in the southern region were considered.
