INNOVATIVE PROJECTS OF OUR SMART PEOPLE HAVE RECEIVED SUPPORT

On the first day of December 2017, the Final competition-conference of the program "SMART GUY" of the Fund for the Promotion of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Field (Fund for the Promotion of Innovation) was held in Rostov-on-Don. The program is being implemented in our region with the support of the Government of the Rostov region. Representatives of the YURSPU (NPI) also took part in the competition.

Innovative projects of students and young scientists for participation in the final were selected throughout the past year.  In total, 162 innovators – representatives of various universities of the Rostov region - presented their developments for the competition. The winners of the semifinals were waiting for a strict selection. Their works underwent a mandatory depersonalized examination procedure, in which experts from other regions in the relevant disciplines additionally assessed the scientific novelty of each project. 63 authors from six universities and four branches, as well as young specialists from two enterprises, received the right to present their developments before a competent jury in the final of the competition. The works in the final were considered in five nominations: "Information technologies", "Medicine of the future", "Modern materials and technologies for their creation", "New devices and hardware complexes", "Biotechnologies".

Nine young scientists of our university presented their projects in two sections - "Modern materials and technologies for their creation" and "New devices and hardware complexes". They were evaluated by a specialized commission, which included not only scientists and representatives of the Innovation Promotion Fund, but also successful entrepreneurs. Among the experts invited to evaluate the works of the contestants was a scientist of our university, associate professor of the Department of Information and Measurement Systems and Technologies, Candidate of Technical Sciences D. V. Shaykhutdinov.

The applications recommended by the regional expert jury were further sent for consideration by the competition commission and the Directorate of the Innovation Promotion Fund, which were to form final recommendations on financing and approve the results of the competition.

On the Day of Russian Science, February 8, the results of the programs "UMNIK" and "UMNIK-NTI" became known and the winners were determined.
