The RNF announced the winners of the 2019 competitions for grants for two events: "Conducting initiative research by young scientists" and "Conducting research by scientific groups led by young scientists" The Presidential Program of research projects.
This program was developed by the RNF in 2017 on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, its main tasks are to support long–term projects of leading scientists and create career paths for promising young researchers.
In total, according to the results of two competitions, the Foundation supported 494 initiative projects of young scientists in the amount of 1.5 - 2 million rubles annually and 340 youth research groups with funding of 3 - 5 million rubles.
The first competition - "Conducting initiative research by young scientists" - is aimed at supporting young people under the age of 33 who have defended their PhD theses. The winners of this competition included three Novocherkassk polytechnics: Roman Evgenievich Yakovenko with the project "Controlled synthesis of hydrocarbons of a given composition on mono- and multifunctional catalysts", Boris Mikhailovich Goltsman with the project "Study of general patterns of synthesis of porous materials based on man-made and natural silicate raw materials" and Hrayr Karenovich Aleksanyan with the project "Technology of personalized monitoring and evaluation of regional ventilation-perfusion ratio of lung departments in patients in the pre- and the postoperative period on the basis of three-dimensional multi-frequency electroimpedance tomography."
The grant amount is 1.5 million rubles per year for 2 years.
The second competition - "Conducting research by scientific groups under the leadership of young scientists" - is associated with the support of a new generation of scientific leaders - young candidates and doctors of sciences under the age of 35. The winner of this competition was Alexander Vladimirovich Astakhov with the project "Development of effective catalysts based on nickel and palladium complexes with N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC) in carbon-heteroatom bond formation reactions for the synthesis of practically important molecules".
The grant amount is 5 million rubles annually, its duration is 3 years with the possibility of extension on a competitive basis up to 5 years.
According to the terms of the competition, for these funds, young researchers should not only offer an interesting idea, but also gather a youth scientific group around them in order to implement this project as leaders.
Congratulations to the young scientists of YURGPU (NPI) on winning the competition, we wish them creative inspiration, scientific insights and success!
