Today, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation A.G. Kobilev visited the YURGPU (NPI). This visit took place as part of the implementation of the deputy's work plan in his "own" region. Alexey Gennadievich began to get acquainted with the actual scientific potential of the university: he visited the Research Institute "Nanotechnology and New Materials" and a number of laboratories. The meeting with the parliamentarian was attended by the rector of the University Yu.I. Razorenov, Director of the Research Institute A. P. Savostyanov, young scientists.

Alexander Petrovich Savostyanov told about the history of the creation of the research institute, about the brightest scientists who stood at its origins and who are working in it now, presented the main areas of work and successes of recent years

- In addition, we have a center for collective use "Nanotechnology", in which serious research equipment is concentrated, - said the director. - All employees of the university can use the capabilities of the CCP, but the vast majority of chemists among them.

An important part of the work of the Research Institute is the training of highly qualified scientific personnel. Really talented scientists are brought up here, who know and love their work well, and therefore achieve notable success. Grants, highly rated publications in international journals and cooperation with major industrial partners are excellent proof.

- Recently, we have prepared 8 PhD theses for defense. Five of their authors stayed to work at our university, - said Alexander Pavlovich. – Now we are preparing for the defense of 4 doctoral dissertations. I think we will have new young doctors of sciences in the near future.

Yuri Ivanovich Razorenov told the guest about promising areas of scientific cooperation and plans to open new laboratories. The Rector and the deputy also discussed work plans within the framework of the national projects "Education" and "Science", in particular, the requirements for the publication activity of scientists as a filter in the selection of candidates for grant funding.

Alexey Gennadievich Kobilev highly appreciated the efforts of the polytechnics to develop the chemical scientific industry, and also separately praised the extensive ties of the research team with industrial partners: customers from various regions.

Following the meeting, it was decided to make such visits of the deputy to the university regular. Alexey Kobilev, as a graduate of our university, is ready to take an active part in the life of the YURSPU (NPI) and, as far as deputy opportunities, to help its development.
