The project is aimed at solving the general problem of "multifunctionality" and "adaptability" of ligands used to create effective metal-complex catalysts, drugs and functional materials.

The aim of the project is to develop new effective strategies for the synthesis of functionally substituted NHC ligands and their complexes with transition metals.

In the context of this project, the task of creating "adaptive" and "multifunctional" ligands and complexes based on functionally substituted N-heterocyclic carbenes was solved. Functionally substituted (functionalized) are understood to be NHC ligands containing functional groups that are capable of undergoing targeted transformations already as part of the M/NHC complex, without affecting the metal-C(NHC) bond.
