Scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation
For the Russian Federation, one of the priorities reflected in the Energy Strategy of Russia for the period up to 2035 is the rational use of natural resources. The strategy assumes the solution of the following sectoral tasks: increasing the share of low-grade coals (coal, brown coals) in the structure of consumption of natural resources; increasing the share of use of waste from the forestry industry and agriculture; processing of waste from coal mining and enrichment. The solution to these problems is the development of technologies for deep processing of carbon-containing substances to obtain new types of value-added products. At the same time, products must be competitive, and technologies must be efficient and environmentally friendly. The most universal method suitable for processing the carbon-containing substances listed above is their conversion into synthesis gas (a mixture of CO and H2) by gasification with further synthesis of hydrocarbons, i.e. STL technology (solid to liquid).
