The program "Priority 2030"

At present, deep processing of natural gases using GTL technology can make it possible to obtain demanded products: synthetic fuels, long-chain hydrocarbons, isoparaffin oils. The latter belong to group III+ base oils and have improved performance properties. These oils, due to the high content of isoparaffin hydrocarbons in their composition, exhibit high thermal and oxidative stability, low volatility, high viscosity index and better low-temperature properties compared to petroleum oils of groups I and II. According to a number of properties, these oils are close to polyalphaolefin oils (PAO) of group IV, while they are significantly cheaper than the latter. Low-hardening group III+ synthetic masses are obtained by hydroisomerization of C20+ synthetic n-paraffins obtained by the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (GTL). In the Russian Federation, there is currently no industrial production of these oils. In this regard, the development of a catalyst and technology for the production of synthetic isoparaffin oils from natural gases is relevant. SRSPU(NPI) has developed a full-cycle pilot complex for the production of synthetic hydrocarbons from natural gases. The long-chain hydrocarbons obtained at the pilot complex will be used as raw materials for isoparaffin oils production from them. During the implementation of the project, two laboratory facilities will be created for testing heterogeneous catalysts and producing large batches of oils.
The project corresponds to the priority direction of the Strategy of the Scientific and Technical Revolution of the Russian Federation 20 b "Transition to an environmentally friendly and resource-saving energy, increasing the efficiency of production and deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, the formation of new sources, methods of transportation and storage of energy." The expected scientific and technical results will contribute to an increase in the depth of processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, a reduction in the environmental burden, and will ensure the production of high-quality motor fuels at remote, low-yield and hard-to-reach gas fields, incl. in the Arctic, which will contribute to solving logistical problems with its delivery and storage for these regions.
